UFC Fight Night: Hooker vs. Parnasse
UFC Fight Night: Hooker vs. Parnasse took place on September 5, 2026 in Paris, France, headlined by Daniel Hooker vs Salahdine Parnasse. See full results, round-by-round breakdowns, fight statistics, where to watch, venue details, and the 14-fight card below.
Parnasse stops Hooker and enters the lightweight top ten
Salahdine Parnasse stopped Daniel Hooker by TKO at 2:35 of the first round at Accor Arena in Paris on 5 September 2026. His UFC debut delivered a victory over the division's No. 10 contender, although this was a five-round lightweight main event rather than a championship fight.
As of 24 September 2026, Parnasse sits ninth in the UFC lightweight rankings, with Hooker down to 13th. The 28-year-old former KSW featherweight and lightweight champion improved to 24-2, immediately establishing himself among the UFC's ranked contenders.
Hooker was Parnasse's third stoppage victim of 2026. He had already beaten Marcin Held by second-round TKO on 17 January and Kenneth Cross by first-round TKO on 16 May. Paris provided the strongest evidence yet that his finishing threat would translate to the UFC.
How Parnasse's body kick broke the main event open
A body kick decided the main event, but Parnasse first had to close the distance against Hooker. Fighting southpaw against the New Zealander's orthodox stance, he exchanged low kicks, feinted forward and gradually pushed Hooker towards the fence. Hooker avoided an early punching burst but could not keep Parnasse from advancing.
The decisive kick landed to the liver and folded Hooker over. Parnasse followed him to the fence, attacked upstairs and landed a left hook during the finishing sequence before referee Marc Goddard intervened. His patience before that opening mattered: he pressured Hooker without turning his debut into an uncontrolled exchange.
For Hooker, now 24-15, this was a third consecutive stoppage defeat. Arman Tsarukyan submitted him with an arm-triangle in November 2025, before Benoît Saint Denis stopped him with strikes at UFC 325. Parnasse inflicted the quickest of those three defeats, leaving the 36-year-old with another difficult rebuilding job.
Sola knocks out Ziam in 100 seconds
Axel Sola knocked out Fares Ziam at 1:40 of round one in the all-French lightweight co-main event. His overhand left landed as Ziam threw an elbow of his own, abruptly ending an opening exchange of kicks and range-finding shots.
Sola improved to 13-1-1 with his second consecutive first-round finish. His year began with a unanimous-decision loss to Mason Jones on 21 March, followed by a D'Arce choke submission of Ismael Bonfim on 25 July. Against Ziam, the karate-based lightweight showed a different route to an early victory.
Ziam fell to 18-6 after suffering a second successive defeat, having lost a unanimous decision to Tom Nolan on 6 June. That is a sharp reversal from December 2025, when his second-round stoppage of Nazim Sadykhov extended his winning streak to six.
Keita's knockout, Campbell's choke and Bukauskas' comeback
Losene Keita delivered the standout featherweight knockout, finishing Muhammadjon Naimov at 2:54 of the first round. A jab had already dropped Naimov before the decisive right hook ended the contest. Keita then climbed out of the cage and took a front-row seat to applaud his own performance.
Kurtis Campbell took the longer route to a finish, submitting Trevor Peek with a rear-naked choke at 3:07 of round three. Repeated takedowns and sustained work from dominant positions underpinned his first UFC victory, making this a useful demonstration of his grappling rather than simply a late submission.
Michael Page's unanimous decision over Nursulton Ruziboev was a much quieter affair, with all three judges scoring the low-output middleweight contest 29-28. Daniil Donchenko also won unanimously, beating Punahele Soriano at welterweight by scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.
Modestas Bukauskas produced the prelims' sharpest reversal, surviving Oumar Sy's first-round ground attack before stopping him at 3:57 of round two. A clinch knee and follow-up punches transformed a difficult start into a light-heavyweight TKO victory.
Four $100,000 bonuses, with Pinto completing the list
Parnasse, Sola, Keita and Mario Pinto each received a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus. All four awards went to fighters who finished their opponents with strikes, recognising the main-event debut, the co-main knockout and two other decisive performances.
Pinto earned his award by stopping Ryan Spann 55 seconds into round two and improving to 13-0. Spann hurt him early, but Pinto recovered, took over with his own punches and eventually finished with ground-and-pound. Among the bonus winners, his performance offered the clearest test of recovery as well as finishing ability.
UFC reported a sold-out attendance of 15,687 and gross revenue of $4,365,335, describing the show as the highest-grossing event in Accor Arena history. Parnasse's successful debut therefore coincided with a substantial commercial result for the promotion's return to Paris.
What next: Parnasse wants Holloway, but a call-out is not a booking
Max Holloway is Parnasse's preferred next opponent after the Frenchman named him in his post-fight interview. Holloway sits fourth in the UFC lightweight rankings, five places above Parnasse. That would represent a considerable step towards title contention, but the request should not be presented as an announced fight.
Our view is that another established contender makes more sense than an immediate title shot for Parnasse. His 155-second debut demonstrated how efficiently he can exploit a hurt opponent; it did not test every part of his game across five rounds. The Holloway proposal is compelling matchmaking, not something the Hooker result automatically entitles him to.
Sola also has a stronger case for ranked opposition after consecutive finishes, although he remains outside the UFC's top 15 as of 24 September. A lower-ranked lightweight would be a reasonable next test. For Ziam and Hooker, rebuilding after successive defeats should take priority over another immediate assignment against a rising contender.
